Girls Instructional Gymnastics Program (1st grade and up)

Level 1

Level 1 gymnastics classes are for new students 6 years old and up or for students who have not yet completed our Level 1 curriculum. Girls in this class learn basic skills on bars, beam, vault and tumbling skills such as cartwheels and rolls, along with developing fine and gross motor skills, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination and overall confidence on the equipment.

Level 2

Level 2 gymnastics classes are for students who have completed/mastered skills in our Level 1 curriculum. Level 2 is an advanced beginner class which focuses on improving upon skills learned in Level 1 as well as learning new skills and developmental drills on each apparatus. Skills taught include handstands, backbends, and lead up drills for back handsprings; handstands, cartwheels and round-off dismounts off beam; introducing board entry and agility for vault; cast shaping and hip circles on bars. Gymnasts will be evaluated before entering into our Level 2 classes.

Level 3

Level 3 gymnastics classes are for students who have completed/mastered skills in our Level 2 curriculum. Level 3 is an intermediate gymnastics class that focuses on improving upon skills learned in Level 2 as well as learning new skills and developmental skills on each apparatus. Skills taught include front and back walkovers and handsprings; front handspring vault over resi mat, stride circles on bars and advancing beam skills. Gymnasts will be evaluated before entering into our Level 3 classes.

Level 4

Level 4 gymnastics classes are for students who have completed/mastered our Level 3 curriculum. Students in this class work on improving skills they have learned in Level 3 as well as learning new skills on all apparatus. Skills include front handspring vault and ¼ on vault over resi mat, progressions leading to vault table, squat ons and kips progressions on bars, side handstand/handstand quarter turn dismount and walkovers on beam, round off back handspring, front handspring connections and front and back tucks on floor. Students will be evaluated before entering our Level 4 class.
